Places for People is one of the largest property management and development companies in the UK. With the issuance of sustainable debt instruments, the London-based company aims to (re-)finance projects in the categories of “Affordable Housing”, “Green Buildings” and “Energy Efficiency”.

Solution

In our Second Party Opinion, we confirm that the Sustainable Finance Framework is in line with the Green and Social Bond Principles as well as the Sustainability Bond Guidelines and that the financed projects make a positive contribution to three UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

About the project

The issuance of Places for People’s sustainable debt instruments serves to (re)finance projects in the categories “Affordable Housing”, “Green Buildings” and “Energy Efficiency”.

In our Second Party Opinion, we confirm that the Sustainable Finance Framework for Places for People’s sustainable debt instruments is in line with the Green Bond Principles, Social Bond Principles (June 2021) and the Sustainability Bond Guidelines (June 2021) of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA). The financed projects from the category of green buildings, affordable housing and energy efficiency make a positive contribution to SDG 1 “No Poverty”, SDG 7 “Affordable and Clean Energy” and SDG 11 “Sustainable Cities and Communities”. In addition, we conducted the ESG risk management performance of the issuer, its sustainability strategy and a review of controversial business areas and controversies.

Our Second Party Opinion follows Places for People’s receipt of a “Certified Sustainable Housing Label” , which measures the positive impact of affordable housing companies, and is awarded by RITTERWALD Consulting B.V. imug rating was commissioned as an independent party to examine and certify the legitimacy of the Certified Sustainable Housing Label awards.
